This Sunday sees the return of my open platform night. It’s kind of like an open-mic night but more extreme. In so much as we’ll put anything on, not just bands, or singers, or comedy acts, anything and everything. It’s a truly open platform with no vetting process. It’s something London really needs - a place for people to be able to exhibit, perform, DJ, without any dictating too, and use the space as they want. We’ve had poetry, performance, singing, rapping, DJing, film-makers, audience controlled VJ and music systems, acoustic acts, comedy, electro, art, installation.
This week the line-up so far includes Rael Stone, who is a very up-and-coming fashion designer who takes the references for his work from morbid topics such as serial killers, death, people talking to themselves on the bus, being sick on yourself in nightclubs, that sort of thing : ) Also we have the notorious tranny DJ Jeannie Dee who’s popping in too play some tunes, plus loads more.
It’s a great way to spend your Sunday evening, it’s very laid-back and loungey, and doesn’t finish too late so you’ll have a clear head for Monday morning.
Oh and Timeout London recommended us : )
